Elisabeth Feigl founded and runs the Elfes World Thailand animal sanctuary, which is home to 490 rescued animals from the streets of Koh Samui or from the illegal dog meat trade. Madam - the beginning of everything
In 2000, Elisabeth Feigl, known as Elfe (from the first letters of her first name and surname), made a stopover on Koh Samui on her trip to Australia. There she took in her first dog - Madam. Madam laid the foundation for Elfes World, where numerous rescued dogs live today. (Madam passed away in 2018 at the age of 17).
The number of emergency cases grew and Elfe leased land in the southwest of the island of Koh Samui to found Elfes World as a sanctuary for dogs in 2002. She financed the animal sanctuary privately until 2005, then received support from an association founded in 2007. After its dissolution in 2013, Elfes World is once again privately organized.
