The most important thing for Elisabeth has always been to have a close relationship with each animal and to be able to spend as much time as possible with the dogs. This enables her to recognize any illnesses or intolerances immediately and act accordingly. This is the only way to ensure that all animals receive the best possible care. Most of the animals that live with Elfe live to a very old age.
There are always as many dogs sleeping in Elfe's bed as space allows. She has her constant canine companions with her on every car journey. You will never meet Elfe without dogs around her, she would simply feel incomplete without them. Before the current team of helpers started working in the countryside, she looked after the animals at both locations, sometimes alone or with just one part-time employee. So she was constantly shuttling back and forth to make sure that everyone had everything they needed. For one person alone, this is a huge effort and takes a lot of strength and nerves. But the love for the animals and the happiness of seeing them healthy and happy and knowing that they are safe makes up for these efforts and gives her strength and drive every day.
Elfe spends her entire life caring for the animals and everything that goes with it. This leaves no time for social contacts or events, vacations or free weekends, because the animals need her every day - year in, year out. Elfe is happy with this life. Seeing her animals healthy and happy and being able to help new emergencies and not having to look away is her greatest happiness. Seeing the many animals happy in their new homes in Europe and the USA is her greatest reward. Her love and care for the animals has shaped her whole life.
She is very grateful for what she has been able to achieve for the animals over the years through hard work and dedication, but above all through the support and help of dear helpers, sponsors and donors. She has been able to alleviate great suffering and make many animals happy that would not be alive without her efforts.
She also assists us time and again with medical emergencies that require treatment in Bangkok. Here, too, she usually accommodates them, takes care of the doctor's appointments and looks after our patients. Christine and Detlef have even taken in our dear Kelsey, who unfortunately has an inoperable tumor in her mouth, so that she can spend her last months protected, in peace and with the necessary care, attention and medical treatment. Her husband Detlef supports her significantly.
Many thanks to both of you for your great love for the animals and your boundless commitment.
